I got mine yesterday. It is very hard to put down. The book for sure proves there is no other audio company like McIntosh, none even close.I bet you could put all the others together and they would not have the storied history as McIntosh has had.The pictures clearly show why McIntosh is the best period of all the mass produced audio companies and most of the small elite ones. What other company will even show you how the inside of their production facilties?I wonder what was puchased by George Harrison foerApple Studios that cost close to $250,000.00,that is if my eyes read the receipt right.I hope in the future to see the factory in person, that has to be the ultimat factory tour.

George's check was for $1500 :thmbsp:

I received my book last weekend from my local McIntosh dealer. My first impression was that it was huge and heavy! Once I got it home I couldn't put it down. Everything you've heard about it the book is true. It's the most comprehensive and in depth historical tome on any company I've ever read. Above and beyond that, it's also packed with wonderful pictures of McIntosh gear!

Just checked with my Premium dealer in Hong Kong. Still no sign yet of the book over here!

I guess it too much to ask one you lucky chaps to scan each page and stick it on a website??:)) (not to mention copyright issues).

:(((:thumbsdn:

If my dealer doesn't get one soon.......

Ivan the check was for $1500.00 but look at the receipt to thr right,it is for $243,418.50. to the Audio Center with the Apple header with "George" signed at the bottom. It is a check from Madison Square Gardens.Check it out and tell me if that is right.

Update:after getting out the magnifying glass it is a check for I geuss the proceeds from the concert,"George Harrison and Friends,1971.It says ,"to The United Nations Childrens Fund For The Relief Of The Children Of Bangle Desh."Not what He bought.

Money WELL spent--many thanks!

Your Welcome!

I got mine !!! Came home late Mon. night from a trade show in Cincy ( man is was cold for this FL boy!), and it had just arrived. Now, after catching up with work, I was able to sit down and read a few chapters while listening to some new tunes thru my MX-110Z and MC-30's and Klipsch Epic CF-4's !!
What a fantastic book. Glad I purchased one, and as a photographer, I've had plenty of "coffee table" photo books offered to me through the years, but this is something really special indeed!
It's so rewarding reading about the workmanship and QC that was a company trademark still held on to even today !
I'm proud to be able to own ( once again ) a Mc system, along with a Collins KWM-2 ham radio; two American companies that set standards with good old American high quality and workmanship. Both are still standards even today, although, alas, Collins radio gear is no longer being made.
I love this book so much, that I turn the pages with a cotton "photo" glove so that I don't get any finger prints on any of the pages!! Thought of that after I noticed "prints" on the first two pages that I read! This one is now the prime book of the house !!
Thanks to the author, editor, and work that went into this great book about such a wonderful American success story; just goes to show that we still can make high quality products that the world seeks out to own! Too bad more companies don't follow that way of doing business today !
