New to me Pedersen W-15

diamondsouled

Recycle belly button lint!
Just picked up this Pedersen W-15 Williamson amp.

Pretty little thing she is :D

Will probably try running it with my Electrohome PA-100 on the other side until I find a second one of either, lol.

Cheers

Pretty impressive bandwidth specs. Must be triode-strapping them KT66s, like the original Williamson intended iirc.

Wow, a 40:1 damping factor. Any chance for a schematic?:scratch2:

Haven't been able to dig up a schematic yet but will keep surfing

The specs are quite close to the PA-100 which is a true Williamson KT66 amp as well. The driver tube set up is a bit different although they both do use a 6SN7. :D

Cheers

Not listed in Sams index... but the Williamson circuit is pretty generic... could probably use a Heathkit schematic, just see what values are different.

He, he, You were next on my list to contact Tom.

Apparently the W-30 does have a Sams and it is similar to the W-15 in some ways.

Nice looking amplifier that traveled all the way to Canada. Lafayette, California is just over the hill from the Valley of Heart's Delight. I have only seen a few of Pedersen Electronics products in this area. Petersen did make another amplifier (W-30), integrated amplifier (PCP-20) and two nearly identical preamplifiers (PRT-1B, PRT-1LC). I do not know if they ever made a tuner. An acquaintance of mine has a pair of what look to be W-30 amplifiers. I never heard them though. How does it sound?

Edit May 22, 2017: Yes, they did make at least one tuner, the Model AFM-2A aka Paragon AM-FM Tuner.

They also made a W-50 that ran 6550s. Here's the schematic.

Haven't received it yet :D

I wonder what the would sound like on Bozak 302As?:scratch2: They like a little more damping factor than most tube rigs offer.

nice amp lar,one of many on my rare to get list.im glad i didnt see it otherwise there may of been a bidding war lol.

Hey Larry, I put a snipe on that one...but someone bid over the snipe so it never made it. :D

Good show! I'm glad it made it into your hands, knowing the love and appreciation you'll give it. :thmbsp:
