New White Van Brand - Rolk Olsen

Actually, that part's probably somewhat true. He probably did buy them from (the parking lot of) Best Buy.

There seem to be lots of CL listings for these, all in different cities, all citing that same ludicrous price, all with some variant of "still in the box, just opened to check them out".

They also seem to have some connection to that famous brand "Paramax"...:headscrat

Some years ago, someone was marketing car speakers branded "Ploneer". Identical to their blue-and-white box at the time; they actually found the guy and got an injunction on that one.

Any no-name speaker company that advertises "MSRP" numbers on their website is white van speakers.

They play on words with their names a lot and try to (mentally at least) create an association with known brands. Or..they come up with names like the "Envy Elite" speakers that I posted earlier in the week. Sometimes, I can see a couple of guys sitting around doing nothing but coming up with these names. It's almost comical.

And any speakers packaged in a box with the MSRP on a label on the outside of the box are more than likely white van speakers.

Wow! Check it out at: http://rolkolsen.com/pages/about.html. A wireless HT system for just under $5 grand! Unfortunately these guys are all over CT and Kijiji. At least one of the biggest sites for used gear in Canada (Canuck Audio) has banned these ads. I feel for the buyers who are taken.
