Newbie - Mystery Speaker

I saw these on an auction site and can make out the woofer as CTS, but the rest of the speaker is a mystery. The back says MODEL 66. Can anyone make a positive ID?

What you see are a very sad "pair" of speakers - the tweeters are almost certainly not original (based on the baffle cutouts), and the woofers don't even match (based on the differing dust caps and the ridges on the woofers; one set is concave and the other convex). I would most certainly pass.

It's a shame because the cabs look nice. And one of the woofers have been refoamed. Are those +/- connections on the back a red flag as well (I was wondering if that would ne considered "cheap" or not - Did many mid-fi or hi-fi speaker companies use those in the '70's? My Wharfedales have the twist-tighten ones (British).

Oh yeah, now I see what you mean. Those ARE different woofers. I hadn't noticed the ridges (I just figured one woofer had been refoamed, but perhaps not). Still decent-looking cabinets though. Very-similar to my Wharfs (although nowhere near as sexy), except mine don't have those double-routed edges (Oh man, a friend of mine just accidentally-crushed his index finger using a router the other day, and he's losing the tip of his finger down to the first knuckle because they couldn't save it).

For $25 or less and local pickup, those would be "candidates."

Don't know what the tweeters are, but somebody may want them....

I suspect they are Creatives, which sold in the seventies and possibly the early eighties. Around here they served as a house brand for one of the 'catalog showroom' chains.

The seller is local to me. I bought a pair of speakers from him and his "restoration" work is mediocre at best. He'll cobble anything together. Those aren't worth the freight to Texas, IMO.

Thanks for the insight. I bought a pair of horn tweeters for a pair Fisher XP-9c speakers from this seller. I shall let these speakers pass.
