It'll be interesting to see who gets chosen...the historical trend has been to change the actor and the tone (if only slightly) ...we shall see...

Cheers!

It will be interesting to see what they do since I turned down the role.

If we could vote mine would be for Elba!

Yes, long term fan of Idris Elba - loved him as DCI John Luther - such a change from Stringer Bell in The Wire!
Bond was written to be able to slip from well dressed baccara player to brutally efficient agent getting secrets from the bad guys.
Idris conveys that kind of power - but - perhaps he's deemed too old to do the next 3 or 4 films?

next James Bond

well craig is doing his last bond, now they say a female may be the next agent.well that wont cut it bond is a male secret agent.they say alba a good black actor would have the bond swagger and tom huddleston a good red haired bond with the bond swagger.he was also great in band of brothers.will...

If we could vote, I would vote we put a fork in the Bond franchise, just like the Star Trek franchise. They have both been run, too long in the tooth.

Longtime fan, my vote would be for Idris Elba.

Trying to figure out who said you had to watch them or be engaged with the franchises

I use to like both, until they ran both of them into the ground.

Now they are just another couple of grabs at more money.

Hey they brought Matlock back as a woman, who knows, maybe it'll be; "Bond, Jacqueline Bond"......

That'd freshen it up a bit.....

Having seen the original prime time, it has to be an improvement.

Edit: just saw a commercial for it, Kathy Bates.

Guess Matlock is were old farts go out to pasture

I'd be right on for that, provided she's played by Jodie Comer à la Villanelle

[Pio1980]

Daniel Craig really freshened up the concept and made him human instead of an outdated cartoonish concept of older times. Maybe a good note to end it on.

Henry Cavill would be my next pick for Bond.

[Jalousie]

Going by history, has to be 6 feet with eyes on the blue/gray/green side.
And has to be kind of a surprise. i.e., how many predicted Daniel Craig?

My two favorite 007's are the original and the most recent. When seeing the newest on the screen for the first time I'd like to hear 007 say: "The name is Bond, Jayne Bond."

Edit: Oops, should've read #12 first.

[Jalousie]

If I stretch, I can kind of see a Jane Bond in some kind of one-off revenge or secret take someone out plot. It could work, but it wouldn't be a new franchise move.
