Impressed with this lil recv'r .....looks quite nice and seems good quality! Haven't opened her up yet for the deoxit treatment or cleaning the face yet.
Can anyone give me some background on this?

Thanks

I dont know anything bout them but I bought the bigger ( ? ) brother and have the rx 403. I got it to play with because i like the way it looked. When I first hooked it up I was so impressed with it,it has replaced the two sansui's I was rotating. There is quite a bit of info at rotels website such as manuals and info.
Mine is hooked up to a pair of pioneer cs-05's and a pair of onkyo fusions av s-35's.
I was impressed with it when I got it and it impresses me still. The rx 403 is i think 35 watts. I think yours might be 25 watts ?

Nice little receivers if you ask me. Also hard to find with the silver face.

The sound is amazing to me. So clear and powerful. It also has a decent phono stage and good F M reception.

Nice find.

And if you decide you dont like it,I can give it a good home.:banana:

nice rig

Nice looking unit. Love all the silver and meters.
I have/had a little Rotel some years ago and seem to have mis-placed it in all the shuffle. What I remember is it sounded fine

A flipper friend has a beautiful stack of rack mount and got the impression that they are not worth as much as they look. So, he's sitting on them. I don't blame him. I think they fly under the radar.

Rotel RX-202

I found this little Rotel receiver at a local yard sale for $10.
Sounded gorgeous for two weeks......then did a 3 Mile Island on me.
Made a nice looking door stop after that.
Better luck with your Rotel!

Steve :sigh: :tears:

I set my daughter up with a 402 and a pair of Polk 5jr+'s. Amazing little rig that puches well above it's weight.

Some infos in geman, from a ROTEL flyer.
The bigger brother is the RX-404.

I'm guessing that your 304 is from around '79. I have a smaller RX-203 that shelved my NAD 3140. It sounded much-more-alive and 3-dimensional to me than the NAD. Very-warm. It kept me going until I got my Sansui 2000x.

I am sorry but the 403 was a typo. I have the rx 404. All I have is a phone camera. I will try for a few pics in a while. Sorry for the mix up.

Danke

Danke.

I want that Zappa album back in your avatar! I think you stole that from me years ago!

Nice rec btw. Don't ever see many of these old silver Rotels!

This is a pic of my Rotel RX-404.This unit is in very good shape also. The only difference I can see is the RX-404 has a button for a subsonic filter. I just absolutly love the way this unit sounds. It has replaced the Sansui's seen with it for a while.:music:
Sorry but everything I own is packed for a move but the stereo. Pics are frome a phone camera.:D

I know it's an old thread, but there are so few posts on these Rotel RX 304......

I have just gotten myself one from a garage sale. May I know which are the Sansuis your RX 403 replaced? After all these years, how is it going with them?
