Building the system back up...

The RCAs stayed for 2 weeks, they're great. Very balanced, solid imaging.

Joule Electra preamp in with Cybernet SPA-80

Joule Electra with "Chi-Fi" Nobsound NS-02G amp. Great little amp, powers the RCAs to my normal loud volume.

Vandersteen 2ce Signature II / Joule Electra and bringing back the Luxman L-507u. These are incredible speakers, finally was able to acquire a pair.

System simplification in progress

Stumbled upon a Mersman coffee table in GW last week. Perfect for the core components of my system. Once again, I find myself only being able to go without a remote for so long.

Moved the Pangea rack to the closet for the spare gear. Much easier to pull stuff out now.

Next project is to recone some JBL L166 Horizons.

Very nice! I upgraded my rack too from a cheap rack to a more stable Sanus Rack.

I decided the Vandersteens were too laid back / "veiled" for me overall.

Some cool things have come through the door lately:

Luxman stack of C-120A, M-120A, T-400

Snell K/III, very sweet and musical.

Jamo Concert 8. Mind-blowing for such a compact speaker, my new favorite small speaker.

The more concerts I go to, the more I appreciate the JBL L166s. Still love rocking out on them.

Back when I had dual mono M-02s, I realized I didn't need anywhere near 300 watts per channel in this room. And that was with less efficient speakers. Would be fun with the JBLs though.

Well the MO2 and the M120 are virtually the same except the M02 has a higher dsmping factor. Your not missing out.

Updates:

Playing around with this Yamaha A-S801 integrated amplifier. Sounds fantastic, but not quite as good as my Luxman.

Upgraded my home theater to Linn AV-5140 towers and an AV-5120 center. Very impressed with these.

The reason I upgraded my theater was because my big cat (now about a lean, mean 15 pounds) likes to jump on speakers and launch himself off of them. So standmounts are no longer safe. I used the Sony Core series briefly before I got the Linns. They're killer for the price, especially on sale.

I live in an audio desert….I can never say “picked this up today”…just doesn’t exist around here…Craigslist is filled with junk, or someone wants top dollar …

for me to have all the different stuff I’ve had is because it was shipped in from other places….

lived here for 12 years haven’t walked into someone’s house and saw anything like what we have….it’s weird…

Yeah our area is very active in the audio scene. I'm a moderator for 2 FB groups for our state, the biggest has over 750 members and I know there's people not in that group that I've encountered.

Finally replaced the woofers in the HPM-1100s I've had sitting around for 3.5 years. The original graphite woofers are unobtanium at this point. Used a MCM branded woofer from Newark thanks to a recommendation on FB. Perfect fit and they're on blowout since the company went under. Sounds great so far.

Acquired a pair of Vienna Acoustics Bach Grand speakers in trade. Very rich and smooth, with surprising bass for their relatively small stature. I'm very pleased with them.
