Nikko STA 5010 Issues...

Ah yes I do have that (looking at owners manual now too). When switching pre & main i still have the hum. Which should I have it on, pre or main?
 
Nothing..

That verifies the hum is in the amplifier circuit and not the pre-amp....
Good to know! Does this mean it is likely a bigger issue than deoxify would solve?

also, when depressing the right circuit breaker it gives me a loud click/pop when released before the hum continues
 
I would Replace....

C652 .47µf / 50vdc
C654 10µf / 25vdc
C656 47µf / 6.3vdc
C662 100µf / 25vdc

If deoxit doesn't pan out.

Looking at the schematics I can locate them there but will look on the board. Would this be a desolder and resolder job? And what sort of capacitor (I am assuming that’s what these are) would fit the bill a replacement?
 
C652 .47µf / 50vdc
C654 10µf / 25vdc
C656 47µf / 6.3vdc
C662 100µf / 25vdc

Order two of each .. Enough to recap both amplifiers.

I sincerely appreciate this, I will try deoxify this week. If that does not work I will try the replacements. I am looking for these now, are they all going to be on the same circuit board?
 
These capacitors are all polar.. They have a positive lead and a negative lead.

Except the Wima film capacitor is non polar -- substitute for C652. This one doesn't matter which lead goes where.
 
Verify the original values before ordering.... Like I said before. Service manuals and schematics are not 100% reliable.
 
Pay close attention to polarity when removing from the board. Don't remove from the board until you have the replacements in hand. Or take photos and make notes. The polarity marks are on the plastic sleeves of the capacitors.

Like this example.. Stripe indicates negative lead on this example.

I apologize for not following up yet. I had to put this project on hold the last few weeks...jumping back in.

Looking into ordering these, I am however at a loss finding C662 on the board. Is it part of Q662? Here is a clearer picture. I am extremely grateful for your help on this.

@avionic will hopefully jump on here soon (he knows volumes more than I do) but judging by the schematic, C662 should be in the area I've circled in red. Based on capacitance, compared to others electronically adjacent, and its connection to other components, I think it's likely the larger cap that I've circled in yellow.It's quite possible that the silkscreened number is hidden under it.)

It won't be "part of" Q662. ("Q" designates a transistor.)
