Funny thing is, I actually like the orange plinth color quite a bit! I wouldn't have chosen it myself, but now that I see it, I'm considering it as an option.

I can't even bring myself to giving you crap about that one. Dang thats nice! I like the orange finish also :yes:

I pulled this one off the big auction site that shall remain nameless (why?). I spotted it early, and it was listed poorly. The auction title was "Garrard 310" with no mention of "Schedule 1" or the grease bearing, and no "turntable" in the title. The seller had little feedback, and the grainy cell phone pictures weren't at all flattering. I figured it might fly low under the radar, and it did.

Turns out the seller was a real nice guy, and the turntable had been his father's. The guy packed it well and I couldn't have been happier when I saw the condition. It was grimy but nearly everything cleaned right off.

I fully intend to overhaul the bearing and motor soon, but I've been listening to it too much to do that!

It's not completely flawless, though.

I have a feeling this is the way they left the factory. From what I have read the castings are kind of all over the place on these. The really early gray models were cast from WWII surplus scrap metal. My platter looks pretty much like yours.

Could be. I'm going to leave it like that for now. This table will probably stay stock except for the plinth, which I have plans for...
