No NFL thread for this season yet ?

Yup...The Colts got royally screwed by the refs. The first non call allowed the Eagles to take the ball, when it should have been 1st and 10 for the Colts. The horsecollar call (that wasn't) gave the Eagles another 15 yds.

I don't understand why the Colts were even throwing in that situation. They only needed to make it a two score game. Knowing how efficient the Eagles were on offense, and how gassed the D line was at the time, I would have made sure to get the 3 points.

Tough start for my Colts.

I thinl a lot of teams are getting wake up calls, which could make things even more interesting. Too often thesebguys read their press clippings and feast on iffy competition and think that they just need to show up to win. Denver and Seattle aside, and maybe San Francisco, but I'm not sold on Kapernick, there's a lot of parity out there and teams will need to bring their best every week.

Heck, the only surprise in the NFC North would be the Vikings winning it as the Packers, Bears, and Lions all are decent with the talent to win it.

Gonna wear your Favre jersey ? :scratch2: . :D

Thought about it, but opted for my green Packers embroidered sweatshirt and ball cap. I would have had company with the #4 Favre for sure though.

Let's just say it was a surprising game for a number of reasons, the main one being the defenses outshining the offenses...:dunno:

I still think anyone, except Retro's ViQueens, can win this division. FWIW, road losses in Chicago, Seattle, Detroit, and New Orleans are anything I'd find surprising.

Pretty happy with the way a couple of these games came out... Chargers took care of business again w/Buffalo, and Broncos lost but not before silencing the crowd in Seattle.

Now, if we can just win some of the upcoming games without losing any more players for the season!

No one yet has silenced the crowd in Seattle this year. That game was in San Diego. Would love a repeat in Seattle.

I was referring to the Denver-Seattle game, and they absolutely did silence the Seattle home crowd with that 2-point conversion to tie the game and force overtime. Could have been at a funeral for a few minutes there.

Didn't stay that way of course, and the Seahawks got the ball in overtime and took care of business (I'm good with that, screw the Broncos!), BUT for just that brief period of time, the crowd was clearly stunned.

Another solid win for the Chargers... weak first half but they took care of that in the second. Granted, it was Jacksonville but they played hard, wasn't a laydown game by any means.

Best start we've had in a number of years.

What a strange football weekend in the state of Missouri. First, the utterly bizarre Mizzou win over Florida (with a terrible offensive performance that would have been a bit less terrible if the officials hadn't screwed them over), then what may go down as the weirdest planned play in the NFL this year:

Apparently they called in David Copperfield as a special-teams coach. That kind of misdirection is amazing.
