I know nothing of tubes. Is it something nice under there?

In my experience if you know nothing about tubes and unless this is in working order you may think twice as a first tube purchase.I am also tube novice and had one at one time.Looked complex,(not an easy console pull)and trying to get through the German controls was not that easy.On the other hand I have read that they are nice sounding consoles.

I would agree that German consoles comprise the deep end of the tube console pool. You might be better off wading into the Magnavox end - more crowded but lots of folks to pull you out if you get in over your head.

It probably has some nice telefunken 12AX7 (ECC83). The outputs are ELL80 which are basically two beam power tubes in one envelope, which lets them do push-pull with one tube. Not the most common of outputs. Nice is in the eye of the beholder...
