Obscure TV Show Theme Songs

Oh, here's a Good 'Un... "Darkroom" w/James Coburn... A CREEPY series from 1981-82... They had an INCREDIBLE time travel story where Lawrence Pressman rescues his father, but loses WW2..I think I was one of the 15 people who watched it..Too bad, it was, IMHO, COULDA BEEN a worthy successor to "Twilight Zone".. It was early enuff in the Eighties where they didn't load it up w/the PC/Touchy-Feely crapola that plagued later attempts... It was pure "Scare the Livin' Shyte Outta Ya", pure & simple..
 
It's on Youtube, go to "Darkroom 1981 Episodes 1 &2", its the 2nd one starting after about 34 minutes in.. DELIGHTFULLY weird "World-Out-Of-Kilter" theme music..

That was the song that popped into my mind for Time Tunnel before I followed your link in the OP. I watched a lot of television when I was a kid.

And I had the metal lunch box for this show and it is now worth a fortune and mine is long gone . Of course , when I had the damn thing as a kid , other kids would sing " It's about time , It's about space , It's about time to slap your face" . And they did .

I learned today that it is actually a song called "Puffin Billy" by Edward White and was used in both the US and UK for various TV and radio shows.

I posted this in another thread. I was also amazed the tune was a real song called "Puffin' Billy".

That tune was ingrained in many kids (myself included) every morning at 8:00 AM. And the Captain would hang the big round keyring on the hook at the hutch and the music would stop. Then he'd talk to Grandfather Clock, or Mr. Moose, or Bunny Rabbit. Bunny Rabbit would trick him into providing Carrots by the bunch. He'd get loads of Ping Pong balls dropped on his head with gags from Mr. Moose. And there was Dancing Bear, Dennis, Mr. Green Jeans, and Rolo. What a show. Bob Keeshan was an amazing host. Those were the days, my friends. Those were the days.
 
GUNSLINGER (1961) Theme was sung by the late, great Frankie Laine. Written by Tiompkin and Washington, same ones who wrote RAWHIDE.

So many shows nowadays don't really have a "theme Song"
its often just a couple of notes, or a sound effect or even less ... sad.

Ok Jack, the S.O. Loved that show, and the Showtime Network series that followed. It was the inspiration for her to pursue her Law degree.

I enjoyed it. I actually have the Showtime Series "The Paper Chase" on Betamax. Now all I have to do is fix my Sony Betamax and I can watch them all.
