Very Obscure. "It's About Time, It's about Space" a less than one season sit com from the Sixties. About Astronauts that blast off and land on Earth 1,000,000 years in the past. I had forgotten this Theme song long ago. I did watch it as a kid.

I think the one that is most deeply ingrained in my memory is the original Captain Kangaroo theme song. I was firmly planted in front of the B&W TV at 8:00 am every morning when I was a little tyke.

I learned today that it is actually a song called "Puffin Billy" by Edward White and was used in both the US and UK for various TV and radio shows.
The Dr Who theme was cool, maybee not obscure but i always liked "Secret Agent Man" by Johnny Rivers.
I posted this in another thread. I was also amazed the tune was a real song called "Puffin' Billy".
That tune was ingrained in many kids (myself included) every morning at 8:00 AM. And the Captain would hang the big round keyring on the hook at the hutch and the music would stop. Then he'd talk to Grandfather Clock, or Mr. Moose, or Bunny Rabbit. Bunny Rabbit would trick him into providing Carrots by the bunch. He'd get loads of Ping Pong balls dropped on his head with gags from Mr. Moose. And there was Dancing Bear, Dennis, Mr. Green Jeans, and Rolo. What a show. Bob Keeshan was an amazing host. Those were the days, my friends. Those were the days.

I admit to liking the "The First Years" which was the theme to the TV version of "The Paper Chase." Sung by Seals & Crofts.
