Paul Temple (1969-71)
The series suffered badly in the BBC's wiping policy of the 1970s. Of the 52 episodes of Paul Temple that were made, only 16 survive. 11 of the surviving 16 episodes exist in colour, and these were re-run on UK Gold in its formative years in the 1990s. The other five episodes only survive as black and white telerecordings.
The visuals of some of the 36 missing episodes survive in the ZDF TV archives in Germany. These come from series 2 to 4, which were BBC-ZDF co-produced; however, they only have dubbed German soundtracks. [Wikipedia]

I believe possibly the most intense theme song ever was “Have Gun, Will Travel” by Bernard Herrmann, anyone remember that?

Paperboy007, that was the end theme of the show. I’m talking about the beginning of the show, you know, Dah Dah, Doh Doh, Dah Dah, Doh Doh, Dah Dah Doh, Dah Dah Doh………….lol!

I’m sure I get the medal for most obscure theme song for 1967’s Coronet Blue, but another great theme song I’m sure others remember is Mystery Movie Theme by Henry Mancini………using an ARP model 2500 synthesizer..fantastic! That Arp 2500 is the most beautiful synthesizer ever designed, though not as good as the Moog Synthesizer, which looked like a phone operator’s console.

Ok who remembers the short lived midish sixties series "Rip Cord" staring Ken Curtis (Gun Smokes Festus, and "Then came Bronson" (the church`s masicure WEDDING SCENE Texas shreriff in the second Kill Bill movie, who`s name excapes me ATM ?

Not terribly obscure perhaps, but a BBC produced show that had a run on AMC in the US back around 2008. Got a total of eight 6 episode seasons (or "series" in English parlance), Hustle, about a group of professional grifters, storing Robert Vaughn, Robert Glenister, and an excellent cast of younger British actors whose names are likely not so well known stateside. Very stylish and very high production values, probably the last truly great show to come out of the BBC. The incidental, in episode music was often excellent, as well.

Hustle is a favorite show of mine, still available to stream in the USA. The late Robert Vaughn is quite good in it, as well.
