Speaking of the UK, my Father also liked "Dr. Who" when it finally came to the States. First on our Public Television and then on BBC America. That theme does not seem to have changed in decades. I bet most Americans don't know it at all.

Some of my favorites.

Perry Mason theme. Actually the theme song was titled "Park Avenue Beat"

Mr. Lucky theme. Mr. Lucky was a TV show that lasted only 1 season in 1959 and 1960. It starred John Vivyan and Ross Martin. Pretty much a gambling boat. Henry Mancini(also created the Pink Panther theme) created the theme for Mr. Lucky.

While the show isn't obscure, the theme from the 1st season of Monk seems to be. I really liked the first one but when the show became popular they went with a Randy Newman tune.

Another one that is truly obscure is a dramedy from the early 90's called Going To Extremes. It was about a group of medical students who, for various reasons, ended up at a med school on a tropical island (filmed in Jamaica). The theme song was a great, catchy reggae tune. I can't seem to find anything about it (the song). There is a tiny bit of it at the beginning of a couple of clips (all I can find of the show) on Youtube here:

Best tv theme song ever……Peter Gunn Theme by Henry Mancini - but another pretty good theme song probably no one knows is Coronet Blue, from 1967 which I’m still waiting for the ending!
 
Does anyone know the name of the theme song used at the end of each episode of WKRP in Cincinnati? It is not listed in the closing credits, that I have seen.

Yes. I remember that show well. The other was Captain Nice...that had a great theme song. I liked them both...I was about 8.

 
"Action" starring Jay Mohr and Buddy Hackett. Theme song was by Zevon.

This was a cool show. Very un PC. It's too bad Todd Bridges and Dana Plato weren't on this show. He would have straightened them out. Instead they ended up with that wimpy dad.

Don't remember the show itself, do remember running around with other kids singing "It's about time, it's about space, it's about time to Slap Your Face."

Edit: Whoops, seems zebra03 already beat me to it. LOL
