Steve does amazing work on these vintage ARs so we can still enjoy them for as long as they can play beautiful music.

I know there are more ARs that have yet to be posted. Original or modded, doesn't matter. This is for AR owners to post their beauty.

Glad it's working out for you. Was a joy to listen to for several days of play testing.

"Stanley Clarke" helped with the fine tuning :thmbsp:

Now that's funny:D, I just finished listening to Stanley's "Modern Man"

Thank you again Marc:thmbsp:

I posted the first picture on another thread, but might as well here, too. My thanks to Marc for his patience and help.

There is another XB in the box, but it will have to wait a bit until I clear the decks. Works, but needs help. Empire 1000 SE/X cartridge.

I am glad to see this thread is still active. Amazing how many different beautiful ARs are out there. If you have an AR, please make sure you post pics in this thread.

Ok. Here's mine, and yes, Marc has applied his magic to it:

My New "The"

Rode my bike past a garage sale and saw this little beauty on the floor partially covered with some baby clothes. Lady wanted $25 but I gave her $50 to feel less guilty. Just needed cleaning and a new hinge (ordered). Ordered a new spring/stud kit while I was at it. Just a headphones vinyl setup for now. All my old mint Sheffield Labs vinyl sounds as good as the last time I listened to them 25+ years ago.

Good snag !........great price!!. A note on the springs. The later model AR such as yours ran an unblanced subchassis with 2 different spring rates to compensate for the arm end spring being set in 1 3/4" from the original AR design. You will be able to get the suspension level, but "level" and "tuned" aren't the same. Also, about 2 1/2 pounds of mass will need added to the suspension to get the springs in proper compression height to get back to 3.5 - 3.7hz tuning freq.

well it has an AR badge, and that might be an AR platter. Ends there probably. Doesn't look to be a suspended deck. If the platters are suspended, the arm is not. Can only guess how this might sound.

That's the Euro version of an EB101 with a Sumiko MMT arm, set up properly certainly worth the money.
