Gary is a very fair seller. This is as good as it get without having to order from Jico directly. Because you will not find an original replacement anymore.

That is a BIG yes, Jico will be very, very close to the original ones. But, you must buy from Jico directly, a lot of sellers advertise their styli as Jico but they are not Jico.
Some quick updates, got my arm back from @sfrost, cleaned and buffed up the platter, CW, and pulley. The pulley has a little oxidation from the belt but it’s pretty darn smooth. Worked in the spindle end and used 3000, 4000, and 5000 grit sandpaper and got a nice shine. Removed the old surface on the metal top (not sure what to call it) and had some rust underneath. Used 220 and 330 grit sandpaper and removed most of the rust, much smoother now. Getting ready to paint it with Behr Hammered White gloss or satin. Should I prime it before I paint it?
Also picked out some beautiful cherry for the base, I think it will look great with the white hammered paint.

This was a fun project, took about a month but finally done and she sounds amazing. Really like the way the cherry base and white hammered paint go together. Been playing it through my Pioneer SX-1050 and Dynaco A50's, pretty magical.

The only thing I would have done differently is the RCA and IEC connections, don’t like crossing the AC and tonearm wires, can cause hum or buzz.
I’ll keep em ear out, I have not heard anything yet, but if I do it’s an easy fix. How far apart is safe?

So cleaning up my new to me XB1, here is what I have found so far:
Center bearing/platter bearing was greased.... with the most smelly grease. Cleaned that and used a oil I use for cassette player restorations. Motor has a noise it´s there most of the time, even after adding oil and letting the motor run for a period. I have read the treads on how to oil it, adding oil and wiping old oil. Did not get much dirty oil out from the motor, Vinyl Nirvana trick for reducing play in motor shaft may be next. I did notice that when the motor is of, if feels like there is still current going to the motor, like a buzz in the shaft.

Thanks. Other thing I changed was the platter mat, Cork/rubber thin thing that was glued to the platter/inner platter, I put on a silicone mat instead.

XB on the shelf, for $110 it was a deal with a new Ortofon OM 10 cart.
Needs some love, slow rolling with some initial noise but it smoothes out when at speed.
Ground is missing but it looks good.
I haven't tried it yet, a few other projects and a bunch of reading up to do first.

You did well for $110!
It is absolutely normal for the platter to spin up slowly and it benefits from a helping nudge. You may be hearing the belt slipping a little at start up as well, and nothing to be overly concerned with. Finally if you are looking for a separate ground wire out of the table to connect to the phono stage, there isn't one. The table's ground is summed at one of the RCA outputs. You can separate it out at the wire tree, but I am not sure there is any gain by doing it. Good luck as you work on the XB.

thank you, looking forward to the project. I bought an AR "The Turntable" while in the USAF stationed in Japan in 1985, it went away during the tough early family/small house years.
Travel screw still tight, I'll loosen when it finds a home.
