My local Ace Hardware still has cases of them. If you shop carefully you can get the full wattage types from yesteryear.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were illegal in the UK, but it's also probably not legal to carry a pistol there either. That's what happens when you start calling a truck by a girl's name.

On the serious side, you might want to use two of them in series for low power drain units, like tuners n ****, and amps like 20 WPC. Seriously, a 100 watt bulb is too much for a 20 WPC amp. (well solid state class AB that is, there are certainly exceptions)

FYI, incandescents are illegal to produce here in Germany theoretically. But they can be produced and sold for certain industrial or special use applications. Like for instance 100w 8000 hour bulbs for the red aircraft anti-collision lights on top of tall buildings. So if you are clever you can find a way to buy them. Wink wink nod nod. I'm sure that there are many other loopholes to exploit.

The ones I bought were 'rough service' ones (slightly posh ) - for use in inspection lights and so on, to me they are still 100W bulbs which are good for UK mains voltages, and medium powered amplifiers. And if I get cross with a repair, I can kick my DBT around with less likelihood of blowing the bulb
