In last six months... so called ban here in NC is okay.. usa has lifted so called 'bullshit' because poor people can't afford the new sh*t. & home despot seems to be well stocked for commons. My better half refuses to use the new b.s... says it hurts her eyes and you need the epa to come in and clean up if you break one.

led's and or those spagetti bulbs won't cut it. I'd rather have candle light without power versus some blinking piece of junk without epa clean up. hope china keeps producing the bulbs. soft white to cool white. Your led's can't do that without some new design and my bulbs just screw in.

The LEDs are much better and/or cheaper than they were just 2-3 years ago....and they screw right into a standard socket base....except for the ones that don't like the ones designed to replace fluorescent tubes.

I have a collection of more than 500 incandescent bulbs (15,25,40,60,75,100 W) and also a fine collection of antique carbon filament bulbs. All bulbs purchased some ten years ago.

I think that I have to correct myself. I had such a number, but not anymore, because I use these bulbs daily in a big house and a lot went kaput in the last decade. Everybody knows that these bulbs do not last very long (see also invention of planned obsolescense)...

Cheers for the 500 bulb collection! Longevity depends on the maker and usage of same. Been through a few 4-6 packs of cheap bulbs but can't bitch about the price and home despot takes back if a bulb is defective. (blows off or not working) A lot of damage can occur within the store or shipping as loading or unloading.. somebody forgets these 'objects' are 'fragile'. The tungsten filament is delicate.
