Not exactly JE Labs but MJK did the huge OB Lowthers over double Alphas with excellent results. They're the second project on this linked page.

I personally don't like the 15"s sitting on a horizontal direction though.
Would having them parallel to the ground make much SQ difference?
And perhaps some nice legs on the bottom would make it look great.

Stain the wood and perhaps even piano-gloss it, you'd have some artwork!
I guess I can also slot-load dual 15"s that way.

Now if only I can find someone to do the job for me in future...:smoke:
 
What woofer is that? Can the Eminence Alpha be used in that configuration? I'm always looking for alternatives that might make my OBs a little more room/spouse friendly.

Damn looks like I've dug out the next big thing from PG :smoke:

Wish I knew more about it...I can grab a pair of DX3s for $850 now....not that I actually would though.

The slot loaded woofer used by Mr. Pass is an Eminence 4015LF. PE's price is $225 each. It's 96 dbs which means it won't require massive power.

I read the following quote from Jacob George designer of the world class Rethm speakers which use Lowther drivers with bass augmentation:

"Use the wide bander as a wide bander with no restrictions whatsoever. No filters. And just bring in the bass to fill in what the wide bander can not do"
