Opinions needed- Toshiba

Well I need another pair like a hole in my head but saw these at the thrift shop. Model is SS-470ds. Any advice appreciated ; $75 Cdn- thanks all!

A couple of weeks ago I saw two pairs of those same speakers in a Hospital Auxiliary thrift store - all 4 for $40 but took a pass, Same reasoning - ....another hole in the head plus no attraction whatsoever to Japanese loudspeakers. Speaker accumulation is a heavy use of the ol' space resource. If you don't find the "Japanese Sound" objectionable, you may like them. They did seem to be solidly made.

I have some Toshiba ss330w speakers that for some reason I like quite a bit.

Thanks guys. I think I'll let them sit for awhile and see if I can get them any cheaper.

If i remember correctly These speakers were also labelled AUREX, Toshiba's high end arm into hifi back in the bubble era.
If anyone is reading this, I need a tweeter for 1 of these...PLEASE!!!!
