Opt80 Needs Your Help

You're welcome, Alan (on behalf of Tom, too, who made the Big Sacrifice IMO by parting with a nice ol' tube h/k receiver for the auction).

You are right,If you consider she did every job in the bank except Manager, she is sharp as a tack. Much more people oriented than I. Right now the Pharmacy is a stepping stone.

Eventually she'll land something else,or at least get some kind of higher position at the pharmacy

And a thank you to Thor his double boxed Boston Acoustics A60 arrived yesterday. I was right, I did have a single 8" foam surround. She sounds very nice. The grill fabric was a problem as BA used a two piece plastic frame that once glued together cannot be separated, so I just covered the whole frame.

Alan, you and Maureen are most welcome, I think I got as much out of it as you did and the new owner seems happy with the Carver.

Rob

OPt80, would you consider opening a Paypal account? It makes it a lot easier for me because I never have any cash. At the moment, I'm living job to job as a contractor so I use an ATM and keep all receipts. I've also got a little business on the side using Ebay so I've already got the Paypal account.
I think you will also find out that people can afford more donating that way.

As someone who's dealt with depression my whole life, I feel for your sister, I know how it is and how debilitating it can be even with the newer drugs. I got lucky with a Doctor who knew of a different drug combination that is not endorsed by the formulary. They used Lexapro for the depression and a seriously strong drug called seroquel for insomnia which seems to go hand in hand with depression. The side affects are minimal and the seroquel's side effect was a marked decrease in everyday anxiety. Even though seroquel is strong, you take it at night. It's great, you get good REM sleep and you don't feel doped up in the morning. You might mention this to your sister, there's just so much that isn't known about depression that any new information helps.
I hope she gets better, once they find the right drug combintation, it's like a dark cloud has been lifted from your life.

BTW, I love PEI, great place to visit, until you go back over the bridge and they hit you with that toll, yikes.

Leej,
Thanks for the advice,so when were you here? Next time we will have to have a pepsi

Alan

As Nixon said, let me be perfectly clear,I did not open this to solicit more money.I just should have did it years ago.

I thank each and everyone of you for your help,we talk constantly about the generosity of AKers.

You are all special in this house.

Wow Rob looks great you sure work fast :thmbsp:

Paypal!!

Alan-

Great job with the Paypal account. Now, instead of saying "check's in the mail", we can all just stay at our computers and keep typing!

The T-shirt auction payment went out as a check, but now there's a little extra on its electronic way. Since an XL unfortunately won't fit my chubby self, I've asked Grumpy to auction it again, so there should be another round coming.

My father suffered his whole adult life from depression, so I can imagine what you're going through. Good luck to you and your sister

Alan,

I recently discovered this thread and once I realised you had paypal, I fired
off an e-check. Not much but hope that it helps with that special need.
Please give your family my best! Bill.

Yep, here it is in CA, driving a pair of Vandy 2ci's. Rob did a great job of packing it, using his patented bag o' peanuts and sheet styrofoam method.

Sounds great and FM is super with Rob's alignment. Neato. :smoke:
