Ordered some JBL Studio 530s thisafternoon....

Good! Thank God for good packaging airspace!!!!!!
Man, you aren't kidding. I had visions of contacting JBL, fighting with UPS, etc etc. But nary a nick.

Christmas is going to be so great for you this year!!!
Thanks, I can't wait! I have a smaller space, and my ADS L1290II's, well, it's kinda like driving a Porsche around...in a parking lot.

Mine are also my Christmas present, but I couldn't wait.:)
Dude, Santa's watching. ;)

Enjoy!

How do the 530 compare to the 590? I know, more bass with 590...what about 530 with a sub?

Really no comparison between the two other than the high end is similar. The 590 is just a bigger and fuller sound that really shines in the mid-range. The 530 sounds very good for what it is and of course the sub helps fill in the lower octaves. It’s also quite evident the 590’s are more efficient. It’s like comparing a near field monitor to a house main.

I have found that the imaging improves when the grill is removed and the horn baffle is installed. I listen in near/mid field.

Still liking my 530s. I saw the sale and almost bit on another set. The matching 550 sub was a steal at under 200 but didn't pull the trigger. I run them about 8 inches off the wall on stands, haven't found a small speaker yet that can beat them. Have Fortes in the same setup for comparison, the JBLs have a much smoother top end. Hope more folks get them at Xmas with that $299 sale price.

Walmart is selling them???? Wow.
Walmart, like Amazon, allows a bunch of different companies to sell through its site. Many of the items you wish you could pick up in store, but can't? Yeah, that's not actually stuff Walmart is stocking in their warehouses. It's other companies.

Been interested in these for the past couple years. Missed the past sale and just couldn't pull the trigger and have regretted it. Saw your post and just placed an order. Thanks for passing that on!

Know that Walmart has products made just for them that are cheapened without the general public even knowing about this. Sometimes the only way to differentiate this is a label on the box.

From Sound & Vision regarding the Samsung:

There are two ranges of Vizio M-Series Quantum sets. The 65-inch M658-G1 reviewed here (also available in smaller sizes) is spec'd for 90 local dimming zones. But another M-Series Quantum model, the M657-G0, about $200 cheaper in the same size and available only at Walmart, is spec'd for just 20 zones. That's a significant difference, so be sure to check what you're getting. (The M658-G1 model number appears only in tiny print on the back of the set and on the shipping container.)

In looking at the listing on Walmart's website, I see it says "sold and shipped by JBL official store".

It seems a bit odd to me that they're listed on sale there for $299, but at JBL.com they are back to $599. What do I know though, there's probably a reason for this? I hope those who ordered from Walmart.com do indeed get theirs, instead of an email saying they are not available or something.

Please let us know if/when you get shipping confirmation.

I received a confirmation from Wal Mart saying they are processing it and they should arrive between the 18th-24th. I'll believe it when I see them!

Good luck, I hope you do get them. I know if it was me, I'd be nervous until I either got a tracking number or had the speakers in my possession.

That's great that they are still available! I didn't think I needed another pair of speakers, but these are so dang fun and addictive in my bedroom setup. I tried comparing them to some Klipsch, and it's hard to beat the smoothness and openness of these JBLs. I have them raised up on other speakers, sitting on their sides, tweeters on the inside. The ceiling is sloped, so I can't rotate them up yet without hitting the ceiling. I do think breaking them in for a while improves their sound. I was tempted by the big tower 590s, but I enjoy bookshelf speakers also. These are cool looking as well as sounding fantastic.

I'm showing my wife these pics, then she can't complain I have too much stuff!
Love your collection!

I didn't post pics of the amplifiers or the 5th system all are underneath the countertops. There is also another rack filled with tables by the window. This is the vinyl and FM room, also were my computer is. I'll post some more tomorrow. BTW, they are all hooked up and are paired into different systems. One is vinyl only with 4 tables connected to it, the other 3 are FM only systems, one SS based, the other tube based. One system is a 3 channel system built around my Marantz 3300 preamp (with center channel tap). 3 channel is very fun (room filling stereo).
