Thank you Ortofon, modular rules. Only one cartridge is needed and the stylus source is cheap. I don’t need the $300 cartridges anymore.
No one asked but, ‘how in the devil does it get aligned?’ They planned for that too, remarkably easy.
My only problem is- how do I pronounce Ortofon?

My ProJect TT came with the OM5E mounted and I wasn't thrilled with it, but I liked it somewhat. I recently replaced it with a 681EEE Mark III. Although it wasn't a huge improvement the Stanton was the clear winner.

The brass weight in the mount of the OM series carts is designed to be removable so you can better match the mass of the cart + arm to the cantilever compliance. Check to see what the published effective mass of your arm is and determine whether it's worthwhile to remove the weight.

As already mentioned above, it would be theoretically more ideal to use the OM10 without the weight plate on your 12 g arms. With the weight plate installed, the resonance should be a tad on the low side, but not critically low - i.e., unless you'd in practice experience problems like woofer pumping especially with somewhat warped records, I don't really see a need to change anything....

So using the OM10 without the weight plate would only theoretically be more ideal in terms of resonance - in practice one probably wouldn't get the arms balanced.
