Perreaux anyone?

I absolutely love my Perreaux. I've got an SA3 pre feeding a pair of PMF1850 biamping my Mirage M1. I decided to have the SA3 and 1850s freshened up. New audio grade caps and other components, power switches on the amps and adjust to lowest distortion. Listening to the first amp and the pre and I can say it was a great investment. Older Perreaux can be had at a great price/performance ratio and freshens up wonderfully. The next step up in performance gains little and cost a lot.

Someone that I know at hoffmans is currently selling a PMF-1150B power amp in very nice shape. If you guys are interested just PM me and I'll give you his info.

Do you happen to have the list of caps, resistors, and any transistors needed for the rebuild? I just acquired a PMF 1850 a couple weeks ago and I’m really enjoying how it sounds with my KEF 104/2’s

This winter I'm using the fully rebuilt Perreaux 1150B and I'm driving it with Vincent SA-T7 tube preamp. It sounds like a million bucks!

Back in the early nineties when creating a HQ separates based stereo for this spare bedroom, and my local FM stations hadn`t yet gone down the toilet, I noticed Audio Classics had an attractively priced used one rack space height RM Perreaux brand tuner with it`s funky coax antenna connector offered for sale in their catalog, so I purchased it, and around 5 yrs. later my local FM offerings declined, so the rack mount Perreaux tuner remains unpowered in the stereo rack.
It was well built, & performed well and sounded as good as my local FM offerings could provide until I ceased using it.

Here is the parts list from when I had my amps restored. Each had the same list of parts replaced.

8 - 10uf 160VDC Electrolytic High Voltage Capacitor,
2 - 100uf 50VDC Electrolytic Audio Grade Capacitor
1 - Solid State Relay
1 - Cartridge-Style Power Switch for Front Panel
6 - MPX-SA92 Transistor

The relay and switch were preventative. the power switches on this vintage of Perreaux amps are known to fail. The work was performed by Jeffery Jackson and I could not be more pleased. I think he may have retired. Good luck with freshening your amp.
