I've just recently moved into my new Listening Space.

The Mains are Zilch-Wave SRs. The Subs are O-Audio 500 fired Dual RSS390s.

The Surrounds are Klipsch / Vifa Buyout MTMs. Crossover design courtesy JohnnyRichards over at PE Tech Talk.

The Music is FLAC via Foobar2000 with an optical connection to the AVR.

That seems to be the general consensus over at AVS as well.

The rooms a little wider and deeper than the photos suggest. 8' x 16'.

I dont really know what too much sound sounds like, but I do have an ejection seat build into the recliner, just in case. My preservation instincts do start to kick in when the volume knob gets past half way.

Seriously though, I'm looking to upgrade the Sony AVR with something that can better keep up with the Subs. Right now I have the gain on the Subs turned way down to mesh up well.

But it sounds pretty darn good like it is.

Thats one of the good things about the Zilch Horns .... they have good detail at lower volumes, or can handle enormous gobs of power, which I dont currently have enough of.

The less sensitive MTMs on the other hand really need some wattage before they'll get up and go.

No, a friend of a former co-worker made that for him. Then he left it in his office when he quit.

Its actually made out of automotive / small engine parts. Spark plugs, rods, etc.

It had an arrowhead on the end of that weapon he's holding, but my co-worker's kid took it off and lost it. I'm gonna try to fabricate a replacement someday.

butch- Love it. That room could be mellow or amped, depending on the tunes. I presume it's mellow at time of photo- you Blokes appear relaxed in yer beanbags despite a Poltergeist bursting through the TV.

Wow, both those rooms look awesome. Those shelving units are great with the speakers built in, very well thought out.

And the carpet, pink floyd and tmnt accents look great on the other one. Question though, where is the TT located?

They make that!? Oh dear...I think I know what carpet my (future) house will eventually have:yes:. Never knew such a thing existed, and I think it was better off that way.

One problem though, no color organs and no lava lamp...all is forgiven though, since that is a sweet space, looks like Jbl speakers maybe, with a pioneer receiver?

SX-1010 and JBL P-40`s .I might look for a lava lamp today .

What do you use on the floor, just carpet or?? Is it coloured like that due to blacklight or?

I went to Carpet Mart last night looking for a remnant and they had this 9 x 12 blacklight rug and it was perfect . I could not believe how bright it got when we turned on the blacklight . It really illuminates the room . We are still working on the room . I`ll post more pics when we are done .

That black light room is ultra cool. Reminds me of our rec room in the mid to late 60s at mom and dads house. Oh the colors, took many a trip, with out even moving, in a place like yours.
