Pioneer BIN or BO

The rack alone, known to Pioneer fans and Dealers just as "The Rack", sold new for $1650 and weighs right around 300 lbs empty. I know, I have one, luckily they are on casters. Sam is correct though, it is overpriced as a complete system, he may be able to part it out and get up to $4500 or so for everything. Just my $.02

just a tad

Seems a tad to steep to me also.
$1600 for "the rack"? Jeez, no wonder I never got one.
I built my own, $20 and a day with the welder.

Is it just me,or are people getting crazy with there asking prices lately?

Well, he does also have it listed with the "Best Offer" option, so who knows? To be honest though, if they would have started that "BIN" a little lower, like about $2000 lower, they might have sold it already.

I would offer $4250 as a starting point, he can keep the HPMs. That's a massive rack.

That rack is the wild card in this deal. Also notice that most of the pieces do not have rack handles. Hmmm.

Those black pieces that frame all the other components besides the SPEC 1 & SPEC 2, are actually attached (screwed) to the sides of all the other components (the whole length of the components, front to back) and then placed and screwed into "The Rack". That tuntable sitting in the front is also a "table" (formica top) portion of "The Rack" that folds down from the rack and has fold-out legs in the front of it. All one piece. This particular "The Rack" appears to be in exceptional condition and I've never seen one as nice as that one. Mine is actually in really good shape, but that one looks like new.

The woofers for those HPM 150s do show up on eBay every once-in-a-while and if it is a package deal, I'd take them and patiently wait for some original woofers to show up. Ether that or part them out for some good money as well. Those 360 degree tweeters usually bring in some pretty good $$$ all by themselves. As far as offers go, I'd actually start quite a bit lower than $4250 and see what happens.

First time I've even seen 'The Rack' on the 'bay!. I will be watching this one out of curiosity.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the tape deck, EQ, and tuner could be had with rack handle kits. I think I would want those if I was considering a high dollar SPEC system.

The CT-F900 used the JA-R102 screw on rack adapter ears. The JA-R101 19 inch wide trays were used to rack mount equalizers and tuners. Therse were for use with the JA-R2S Rack.

Is that a car subwoofer?

Sure is!

I bet it sounds very different to the original woofer.

I'm also assuming that it's a 4ohm woofer, as to the best of my knowledge Pioneer only ever made that particular series of subwoofer (entry level) in 4 ohm single voice coil.
