PIONEER DSS-9 speakers

Super! Gotta say original is nice, even if your replacements sound good.
I had a bad experience getting a pair of D123's sent from Denmark to Nebraska. They got lost, and after some discussion with the USPS, I just gave up. Should have stayed in there and done all the paperwork and get the insurance. Bummer.

I also bought a pair of DSS-9's as I mentioned in another thread but haven't received them yet. They will require a refoam too. I have a couple questions for you:

1. Will a standard 12" foam surround fit the DSS-9 woofer? I haven't ordered mine yet, was waiting for the speakers to arrive first.
2. How do the DSS-9 sound with the original woofers? Can you compare them to other Pioneer speakers like the HPM100, HPM1100, HPM 700, S-1010?

Normal 12" foams should fit to the woofers.
But it is not so easy, to remove the rubber band, which is glued above the foams. And you have to be careful that it (rubber band) don´t drag appart.

The best speakers I ever had, where Pioneer HPM-1100, much better than my S-1010. HPM-110 and HPM-700 are very good speakers too, but not as good as HPM-1100. Especially with higher volume they reach their limit.

DSS-9 seems to be better than any HPM-speaker. Treble and mids are totaly clear and bass goes deeper than the HPMs.

Today tom1356´s woofers arrived Germany save.
Another nice moment: bringing old Pioneers back to life.
And back into the original condition.
They sound and look super:

I got a pair of DSS 9-ds but the subs are not original the sound great are they with anything still serial numbers are 00435 for the left and 00452 for the right
