A little more info I have is that these are 6 ohms and the woofer is cast frame aluminum and looks just like any of the HPM woofers only smaller. 7".
The tweeter looks very much like the ones in the Phase Linear speakers from long ago....Stacked, these speakers really bring out the details....Not bad for $25 a pair....I have two more pairs in my living room, each stacked on an HPM-100...one pair I modified with a Tangband tweeter...and another pair are in the rear and not pictured...

The HPM-100s are here!!!!! I'm going to start with Tomita's Space Fantasy to check the range, and then move on to We Won't Get Fooled Again (Who) to see if I can scare the hell out of the neighbors when RD screams. Any other speaker testing music suggestions? They'll be driven by a SA8800, and the tunes will be coming from a Magnavox CDB 480.

Cosmetically, a few scratches and dings, but that was stated in the auction . The grilles were fronted with cardboard, then three layers of large bubble bubble wrap, more on the corners. 1/2" styrofoam sheeting around that, and then peanuts and double walled box. I played Styx first to mollify Hunny, then blasted Van Halen's Hot For Teacher. I love these speakers, Hunny says if I buy one more thing she's leaving!alwayslooking said:

Try anything by Leo Kottke, a real test of a stereo, especially (of course) the speaker systems.
I also get a kick out of War, Lowrider in particular. Michael Oldfield's Tubular Bells is another great speaker system workout.
BTW, I LOVE my HPM-900--would've loved having real walnut veneer instead of vinyl, but that is only cosmetic.

I have neglected my HPM 900's since the A7's have come into the house. Listening to them now hooked up to the SX 1010. I really like them. Enjoy yours.
