1st see how it arrives, then the knob is missing for the anti-skate. Dust cover? Cables? You never know until it is in front of you.

I've got one of those and I love it. I can't stand the DD rumble no matter how low it is; whatever vinyl you spin on it the music always comes up out of blackness, it's great! :D

Is that the one that came with a Shure cart or no? I've been keeping an eye on those at auction to see how much my stuff is worth, like watching investments ;)

It arrived, dust cover is toast, platter was not removed , it came loose... Oh well.

I can do something with it.:scratch2:

I'm just curious, John. Clearly you've been doing this for quite awhile. Do you give any instructions on packing or do you simply roll the dice and accept whatever you get?

I ask nicely if they would pack it according to my requests, some do, some don't or lie about it.

I can make it work, just has No dust cover, belt is new, cart needs a stylus.

The price was right , so I don't feel too bad. I just like to let everyone know whats out there.

I've got the PL-112D which is one model before the 115D. I think the only difference is that the 112D isn't automatic.

Mine is just like this one (except for the UK plug)

I've had the PL115D since new and have nothing but praise for it. It's been a great TT. I recently acquired a PL530. It arrived in perfect condition...dust cover and all...
M91ED cart and stylus (Seen better days.) The base has the typical Pioneer vinyl peel in a few small places...wish they had used wood veneer like the HPM 100s I use...
 
The 115D is indeed a nice table. I had mine at the AK Fest, and it sounded quite good, even versus some of the pricier competition.

I'm in the process of slowly tweaking it. First stop was to spray some undercoating on the underside of the platter. The platter rings like a bell, and the undercoat deadened it up quite a bit.

The weight that sticks out to the left is not an anti-skate counterweight. It is a lateral counterweight designed to distribute weight on the tonearm bearings a bit more evenly. I don't think it ever really made much difference, and while many early S-shaped arms came with the lateral weight, it was dropped on later models. So, removing it (or the fact that its missing on the subject table) shouldn't matter at all.

My next tweak will likely be new cables.

I used a 117 for awhile when I first got back into LP's, and it never let me down.

If you buy a TT from FL and the elderly person has NO clue about packing, you really can't blame them. If they take to UPS or USPS they should inform them that, Hey this isn't going to make there in one piece. I am going to make a video explaining how to pack stuff!

Plus it is MORE $$$ for them if they don't have to purchase packing materials.

Good something to do tomorrow..

Not to disagree with you John but that is no excuses i bought a used SL1700MKII from an elderly gentleman in Texas and he had never shipped a table before we discussed through e-mails how to pack and ship it. He did a wonderful job and i sent him some extra payment for doing it rite.
BOTTOM line is if there gonna sell on ebay then they should understand as to [packing and not take it to any UPS store to have it packed.
Service after the sale is why businesses get return business.
