Not to disagree with you John but that is no excuses i bought a used SL1700MKII from an elderly gentleman in Texas and he had never shipped a table before we discussed through e-mails how to pack and ship it. He did a wonderful job and i sent him some extra payment for doing it rite.
BOTTOM line is if there gonna sell on ebay then they should understand as to [packing and not take it to any UPS store to have it packed.
Service after the sale is why businesses get return business.

Like I said, I do email and ask the sellers to pack it my way. And some will and they do arrive in good conditon and some just say they will and they just through it in a box the way it is, as you saw.

It does work and it will need some TLC. I need (4) feet which were missing.

Ebay is a crap shoot, but they have more stuff available.

Just bought one of these on ebay a couple days ago..the seller said she would pack it up right so we'll see on friday. Any suggestions on a good cart for this table?

I have the PL-112D its a really decent table when you have a decent cart on it the only tweaks I have done to mine are using a cupboard liner on top of the existing mat and stiffened the suspension up on it. Nasty packing job on that PL-115D.

I wish you luck with this its a realy nice table. You can always have a glass shop make you a nice dustcover for around 40 bucks.

Sometimes you have to lay right on the seller to pack it right. I do and don' ever regret it. Rule 1: No USPS.

It went to a audio enthusiast in CA this week, hope he is happy with it. At least it went somewhere other than the dump!

Move on to my SL-1350 next!

The 112 (manual), 115 (semi-auto), and 117D (fully auto) are all from the same family. They have a suspended subchassis for the Platter and tonearm much like the Thorens...but less fancy. Very good machines indeed. I had the 112D and was very happy with it. They were the replacement for the 12D II, 15D II, and A35D. A lot more plastic than the previous versions.
