Pioneer PL-L1000 in the house.

Aah, could it be too tight? Maybe take the belt off and check that the motor is running, as Pio1980 said. Other than that I'm out of ideas. Good luck with it.

You have removed the circlip and cleaned the arm lift gears on their bearings? The grease hardens and the lift motor skids. Combined with a loose belt and an offset motor and it simply wont work.

Use a piece of inner-tube to shim and wrap the lift motor to get it parallel or the belt will jump off the pulley.

Sorry, been refurbing my SL-13000 MK II, my attentions been on that. Reading the posts, I will try to get back to the L1000 this weekend. Thanks.

Update. L1000 had been idle for about a year. Got back into it last Oct. Been working with it off & on. Bought rubber boots a seller had on the bay. Tried several different belts for the lift. Adjusted the pots to take care of an arm drift issue. Read all I could in forums & the SM & worked on it. Finally got it playing as it should after so much time. Now I do remember why I love this table so. Play it more than my SOTA.

Terrific ergos!

Goddamn - fantastic. Just keep it working. If you can pick up a parts unit - grab it. The whole system depends on the chips, which can go south.

I have a PL600.
I know this is from a couple years back. But what you said. There was a what looked to be an NOS L1000 on the auction site last month. Should have grabbed it.
