They weren't designed to have an Earth ground. It's too easy to create ground loops, especially with house wiring being inconsistent. When you add a ground, you create a 3rd path, the wormhole.

Thanks again. I have been learning a lot. Advantage of being retired and having time to read and watch videos most of the day. @merlynski mentioned warmer days; that also entails more yardwork and therefore not as much time for learning. But still a lot compared to a working bloke.
I also have an out shop that is really nice. Came with the house (purchased 5 years ago) and the fellow who owned it was an engineer and built it. He did it right. He wired over 10 circuits and many outlets are on their own circuit. He ran it from a 100amp breaker from the house and is on the same earth ground. [EDIT: I'm not sure if it is on the same earth ground. Need to check that out.] It does have it's own breaker box too. No heat, but does have a window AC. The truth is I haven't been able to use it because when we moved in it got filled with boxes and junk. I intend to remedy that soon.
It looks like Monday to start on the SA-9500 because of honey do's and doing a little work on my mom's house. My wife still works and the weekend is usually busy. I finally heard back from Mouser and they cancelled the order. I don't blame them. I should have ordered the back-ordered items separately.
Lastly, I have no issue getting of topic, when actually it's not. It's about audio and friendship. Life is music.

Yes. I have that version. I play it on a SONY BDP S590 or a SONY UBP-X800M2. I like the S590 because it has RCA out for stereo SACD. The other is only HDMI, but has great surround sound. Supposedly David Gilmour said it is the best version. Not sure where that came from.
Because SONY (and Philips) developed the SACD, most of their Blu-Ray players will play SACD. It is 5.1 and sounds great, but I am normally not a big fan of Surround sound music. Unless is was recorded in multi-channel as was the case of DSOTM. I think at one show (Wimberley?) they set up a quad system live. There is a YouTube documentary about that concert.
It is not my favorite version but is very, very good. I ripped it in 5.1 DSD format but the SACD sounds better. I think it decodes the DSD better. I personally like DSD over any format. It doesn't feel as choppy as PCM; I guess the 1 bit stream and high kHz. To my knowledge all SACD's are in DSD.

I've had to replace the power switch, and have read others have as well. In my case I could hear the arching/sizzling of the the AC in the power switch.

After much research that seems to be its strength, and downfall. And that signal cannot be passed through co-axial or optical connections (S/PDIF).
My HT system is a Pioneer VSX-D412, that has analog 5.1 audio inputs.
Do you have any experience with or input on a Sony DVP-NS775V DVD/CD/SACD Player?

Not sure what chip it has but should play fine. There should be settings for DSD and Pure Direct. I believe it has 5.1 RCA outputs. The RCA is what I use for stereo. I may take a look at that Pioneer VSX-D412. It looks nice. I am using a Sony AMP with my 5.1 (7.2)

One of the reasons I picked it (VSX-D412) was because it is rated 100W per channel. No HDMI though, but will handle composite video.
It was cheap from the 'bay, and needed no refurbishment.
I am considering a HT preamp, though, with vintage power amps for audio.

Was finally about to start working on replacing the transistors and noticed that one of the parts I received is not similar to the one on the board. The part numbers are what was suggested in the link for AWM-074. Wanted to make sure it is correct before I start. It just looks different. The poles/post are what concerned me. They are flat; not round.

I use analog amps for all my music playing; even though I play my HiRes FLAC & DSD files through a PC and DAC. The DAC has RCA out to my Pioneer SA-9500. I do use HDMI Sony amp/receiver for video. I am mainly a Pioneer guy, but SONY for video. I'm sure there are better, but I don't watch TV and it is for my wife and she is happy because it all works with one remote. Haha.

Kind of' bored for a bit and thought I would post something (waiting on my wife). It just dawned on me that I have service manuals and owners manuals for most of my stuff; even used components I purchased. I have service & owners manuals for my RT-707, CT-F750, SX-626, CT-S705, even my AKAI X-1800SD, etc.
I have an original, almost pristine service manual for my SA-9500, but I can't find my SA-9500 owners manual that I got with it when purchased new in 1976-7. I looked on the bay and the price is $50+ in poor condition. I guess I will settle for my digital copy from hifiengine.

I'm working on SA 9500 also . My SA 9500 is in great shape and passed the DBT. Upon internal inspection I found the PS to be ailing ,one of 470uf caps was bulging . If I was running a stock SA9500 I would pop the hood and check this. I need to put mine back together and do the relay and big can caps .

My caps looked good with visual inspection. I was concerned about the caps on my RT-707 and was told they rarely go out. I assumed the same was true for the SA-9500, but I guess they are different in use and function. Do bad caps on amp boards lead to weaker right or left channel? I have another amp that has weak right channel. I will work on it next. Most of my Pioneer components are in pretty good shape. My SX-626 which I only use as a pre-amp/tuner has a speaker issue, but the headphones work great.
I was fortunate last year and given two amps, one tuner, two turntables, and four cassette decks. All in need of work. Also some of what I already owned needs works. I have plenty to do.

My preference would be to use the Nichicon. Fortunately I have two amps working (Pioneer SX-626 & Sherwood S-9500, also a Sony STR-DH190). Is there Nichicon alternatives? Should I just replace the transistors and hope for the best and move on. I want to do what is best in the long run. What I don't want to do is take it apart, put it back together, take it apart, etc. I have other amp projects as well that I am working on. I am in no rush, but do want it back to use. My favorite amp.

You can use any PET type of film cap for the 0.22uf
You can use up to 25v for any 6.3v caps.
You can use 35v or 50v for the 16v and 25v caps.
Other brands such as Rubycon, UCC, Panasonic, Wurth are fine too. I mainly use Panasonic FC if I don't have Nichicon UPW on hand, and all the others as well depending on what and where.
