Polk or DCM?

If these are the Polk's on the ATL CL, the photo being used is the same stock photo that comes up on google images. I would make the seller show you actual pics before making any meet up plans...ie be careful.
As for which pair to get, I would get them both
and sell the ones you like least after you have had time to use them for a short time. I'm becoming a Polk nut myself but the TF's are highly regarded by many here on the forums.

I've never heard those Polks but I have TF-600s in by bedroom system and think they're beautifully voiced and am in no hurry to let 'em go. I had SDA-1c's and sold them. I have Monitor 10's but will probably unload those too.
Like has been said...best way to do this is listen to both with your gear in your room. That's the only way to know for sure.

I'd go with the DCM TF-600. No need to modify and they sound great!

Seems to be a common theme here. Buy this substandard equipment (Rega RP1...495...and then spend a lot of money modifying it...upgrade kit 195.00...outboard power supply...395...). From what I have read, the outboard powersupply is less stable than the project speedbox...
get the DCM TF-600 if they are in perfect condittion. The polks have nothing on these
The DCM have two 45 degree angle rear firing tweeters per speaker as welll as a rear firing bass port (they are line transmission speakers.).
They blow my DCM TF-400s away.

Older Polks are usually pretty cheap to modify. I'd say $30 in Dynamat and Moretite would do them well.
I have TF 600s and RTA-15s on the same system (SX-1250). The DCMs are a bit thin on bass in comparison; however the mids and highs are much better, as is the imaging. I do not have a good setup re: imaging, however. The Polks have better bass, but seem to be real power-hogs. I enjoy the Polks when rocking out, and the DCMs at lower volumes. You will hear things through the TFs that you will not hear in the RTAs (and NOT vice-versa!)

These measurements seem to suggest the Polk has some issues on several fronts. I've never heard them however, but based off the measurements, and my experience with DCM, I'd be inclined to pick the TF600.

Nobody special.
I've had the Polk 11T's and have had a few sets of TF-600's (I currently use the TF-600's in my main system...). I'd take the DCM's (and did...) in a heartbeat. I will say this though... I've had MANY different Polk models and the 11T's were some of my favorites. In fact I currently use a pair of 8T's in my TV system and they really shine in that setting.
