Possible speaker ID? Longshot, I know...

Found these while perusing the interwebs, and was wondering if anyone could possibly ID these, the grill cloth kinda makes it look interesting....and it includes the stands too, lol

About as generic as a speaker can be, so very tough to ID. But appears to be real veneer, which is a plus. And the stands, which actually look like table legs are a plus. So if really cheap, a no brainer. And you might be lucky and get something good - and they don't have to be name brand to be good sounding.

That was my thought exactly, really generic. Had to laugh about the "stands", I guess for a Hamilton for each (speaker + stand) times 2 (don't know why the ad's not selling them as a pair, but oh well) might be worth the gamble. Bad thing it's about a 100 mile drive one way, so ill have to think about it ...

I'll update this post if i decide to leap on this...thanks for your input on the Rectilinear. Almost looks like the picture was taken inside a studio? Who knows....

I think the walls of the Rectillinears was thicker, so the frame around the grill would have been too. KLH used a similarly vomitatious grill cloth, but their speakers were differently proportioned - slightly taller and thinner. I think that they are probably something like Utahs, or locally sourced no names sold with systems for little money. Again that doesn't mean they can't be perfectly fine. But unless you have no speakers at all, a 100 mile drive each way would answer the question for me.

Ya, they look close to the cloth on the mini lll's I had. But no badge. The cabinets look like they could be anything.

Cloth on the unknowns seems stripey, not nubby, though that may be the photograph. Do the grills on the Rectillinears project in front of the edges?

They do slightly due to the use of 1/2 homasote which is usually nailed in place but the ones in the pic I found most likely were Velcro’d which makes them more pronounced.

Looks elegant, which the unknowns don't really - the seams at the corners are quite visible, and the veneer looks dull. Of course that could simply be a lack of furniture oil, and they might look splendid with a little TLC. Despite that, something about them doesn't suggest Rectillinear to my mind.

Similar to what was on the Mini's, but mine were a darker brown with dark red threads running through the cloth.
