Several beautiful recent posts (couple of Thorens, Empire, etc.), but think the VPI deserves a full-sized display. If I ever go back to a manual/belt-drive TT, this is the rig I would aspire to. :thmbsp::yes:

I had already posted a photo of my Revox B795 but here is my latest addition; a Technics
SL-1700. I installed a Grado Prestige Gold1 cartridge in it and must say it's an excellent sounding setup. The turntable has auto eject and shutoff which is a requirement for me but does limit my choices. The light on the upper edge of the dust cover is a Lencolamp made in Switzerland. It turns on/off by a position sensor. I bought it new back in the 70's. It does a nice job of lighting up the record. I recently bought two more off eBay new in the factory packaging for my sons. They haven't been made in years so they're hard to find. Meanwhile my one son sold his ReVox turntable and bought a Funk Firm Vector turntable which by design can't use a hinged dust cover.

I hope to add more in the future but for the moment I have a Thorens TD-160 with a Sumiko Blue Point #2 cartridge, a plinth made of 120 year old oak (the plinth is a work in progress), an Acrylic Platter from Vinyl Nirvana, and a Jelco tonearm waiting on a cable so that i can install it. I have to admit that the tonearm was a stroke of good luck as i got it for under $30 on the premise that the vertical movement was broken. That turned out to be a terrible choice in oil, which turned into a glue like substance. A lot of cleaning got it back in order
