Thanks! I can only take credit for the top plate. I stripped it down to bare metal, coated the underneath with an acoustical dampening material, and then put five coats of color with a rattle can and careful wet sanding. Followed that up with two coats of clear lacquer. Lots of elbow grease, but it looks pretty good.
AVFan did that beautifully figured walnut base. I also had the outer platter edge polished by a local metal polishing shop. The real beauty is in the function and I have marcmorin to thank for that.

Your XA looks great with that nice top plate and I'm sure it sounds great with all of marcmorin's modifications. Excellent work and enjoy!

OK. I've been looking at this thread for three nights now. I have so many comments I don't know where to start. To all: VERY NICE TABLES!

I got this TT about 20 years ago for free from a guy that I was doing some work for...said he had not used it for a few years! I plan on getting a second table one day as my preamp has a second input. A manual belt drive to round things out!

Here is my humble contribution....
Technics SL-3300 (direct drive/fully automatic with repeat function)
