My Traveler Ver. 2

My Deneon DP59L ... super isolation ...

Here is my isolation on my DP59L ... I moved from a 4000+ sq ft house (CO) to a 1100 sq foot town home (AZ) ... size limitations required putting my turn table over my sub ... spiked table feet, sorbathane under marble slab, then marble and sorbatane feet under turntable ... not enough on 1812 etc ... SOOOOOO ... I went and bought four PVC 4" end caps .. painted ... filled with fine sand ... added more sorbathanne to the underside and set my 59's feet into sand ... leveled ... and no resonance issues no matter what I play nor how loud (except neighbors Sat AM) ...Sand iso2IMG_0010.jpg

Finally have a real TT (been using an Ion Profile LP :thumbsdn:) so here is my humble contribution to this thread. Just found this today and tested it out. In need of a good cleaning for sure.

Picked up this older Rega Planar 2 (always liked the wood trim) with Acos tonearm ( Yes, it has the dreaded failed anti-skate belt, I'll have to contend with that.) Had a few minor cosmetic issues, cleaned up nicely. Plan to order some upgrades as funds are available. But as is, not a bad sounding table with the Micro Acoustics MA282e cart I put on.

I still have a mint ELAC Miracord 40A that my father bought new back in the 60's. I just need to get a new idler wheel for it as the rubber on the original has a small dip in it that causes a "thump... thump..." come through the speakers. That and I want to build a nice heavy wood plinth for it. Other than that, it's perfect.

Also, the Yamaha YP-D71 was the very first TT I purchased on my own. It too was mint and even came with a Dave Mason album, free of charge! Unfortunately, I sold the TT for a Music Hall mmf5. That was the worst table I ever had, and only had it a few months before getting rid of it.

As for current events, I'm still running my Technics SL-1700 MKII with a Signet TK7E cartridge, both purchased brand new back in '79, also by my father.

And now with a McIntosh preamp that replaces the Musical Fidelity preamp.

Here's a Dual 701 that I've had for a few years. The base is from fixmydual via Barter Town. The 701 needed some work on the automatic functions when I got it, but once that was done it's been a flawless daily performer. Shure V15iii + Jico SAS.
