No, the Rega 25 shares the same plinth as the Rega P9 from the same era. Its a rigid plinth with a surround that is only connected to it in certain places, I read somewhere that the surround reduces vibration in the plinth.

OK - So if there's any vibration damping, it is located in the feets of the turntable then - somewhat à la Technics SL-1200 ?

Yes, the feet act as the damping factor.

only had this about a week, at least running correctly for a week. Bought it from a nice guy on USAUDIOMART. He had worked on it and made the plinth! But it needed further attention. Luckily my tech is really good. The SME was one I had saved for such an opportunity.

Still needs a little wood filler, sanding and final stain/varnish, but not too shabby for an "occasional" woodworker....

It's been an uneven fight against stubborn "Garrard Glue" (hardened old lubricants) and temperamentful headshell connectors. But finally it seems as if I'm winning.

Garrard AP76 was my first "real" TT so many fond memories, thanks for the pic
