Post your Minimus 7 killers here!

They are solid little speakers, but if you don't like how they look, you should definitely pass on them. They will also most likely need to be re-foamed.

I believe Koss started out as a headphone company and expanded into speakers in the 70s or 80s. I also had a nice pair of headphones from them when I was a kid.

From photos, or in person? Those were pretty cool speakers back in the day, quite nicely made and sounded better than you'd expect for the size and price. That said, easily outclassed by something modern.

If you wanted to spend a little more, the tiny Monitor Audio Silver 50 speakers I tried a while back stands out to me as Minimus 7 slaughtering.... way more detail and sophistication. Just better in all ways.

They kinda look like a cheaper iteration of the Minimus 7W's.
 
JVC S-M3 from the 70's, which has a sweet sounding alnico tweeter, same form factor as the Minimus 7.

The Satellites of the Ensemble I and II do a good job on their own. They do have a low frequency cut off around 140hz or so. ( they were designed to be paired with their "detached bass module(s)" - but can certainly be used alone , With the bass module - single ( ensemble II) or Dual ( Ensemble), I've recommended using 2 amps for the system, NAD 2200pe x 2 for example. 1 driving the satellites, 1 driving the bass module(s) . It's always been an impressive demo for folks who overlook Cambridge Soundworks speakers. "WOW" is the most common remark.

I bought a single one of these to use as a center channel for $5, extreme clearance when Radio Shack was going out of business. This speaker sounds way, wayyy better than you'd ever guess.
Not claiming it's audiophile quality or anything, but the sound is fun.

And yeah, I have a pair of Minimus 7w's with the PZ-2.1 crossover upgrade. I like this RCA better. Sure wish I could find a second one, ha!
 
Mission 8VETs sound very good to great for their size. Very much like the MS50s except the 8VETs can handle a bit more power and are made in England. Pictured next to a Model 70 mkii for size comparison. I run them both upside down (from Mission's perspective). I am into near-field listening. Never heard the Minimus 7s, but would like a pair in walnut.

I have a pair of each 60 and 65.
Got them all for $30 to supplement the highs of my floor speakers.
Yeah, whatever, until I let them have a solo with that stupid "Loudness" button on my Realistic sta-84.

Now I dont know what the hell I'm going do...

...Besides a refoam..pretty sure that's not going to make them sound worse.
