While in the USAF in MI in 1978, I took a trip to Flint, and at an audio store in a mall, the owner told me about this 'new company in Nashville with Pioneer connections'. He said my new Project/one receiver was only short on THD to the then Pioneer of simular specs.
Young, and no audiophile, and with only $200 USD in my pocket, I bought.
It is now my bedroom beater stereo, and channels drop out at low volume for the 1st hour. The balance is off to the left side, and the switch pots are noisy even after contact cleaner. The signal meters died in the 90s. I play it thru 1982 Bose 201s.
But you know what? It still sounds decent, after surviving college, the Navy, two growing boy's curiosity, and neglect.
Built well, and the alum face and veneer look great. I forget the model number; A-1a? 35wpc, decent FM/lame AM, and it plays the PlayStation with CDs okay...

Ask AK'er saltwater....
If it's anything like his Mark 800 I would be all over it....I knew Pioneer and Project 1 had to be related somehow... the family resemblance is too close to be a fluke.

I bought the receiver. It is the largest receiver I have ever seen. On the rear panel it says 650w. Three speaker hookups, two tape monitor i/o, 4 meters (signal, tuning, and right and left watts upto 320w. It says on the front it is a DC Series. It was made in Japan. Any info or opinion would be appreciated. I paid 75.00.

yrly out to chime in he has 3 1500's! The 800 not two much diff, everything on the front is the same.... unsure bout the back. insides diff setup..

The mighty Mark 1500, so good I bought 3 of them. Good price too this day in age. I paid between $57 and $137 for mine.
The specs on this unit are very good. I have a copy of the owners manual for it. As soon as I get around to copying the MCS 3125 manual for rstsgsas, I could run a copy of this if you need one, just send me a PM.

Make sure it is the proper size. I had this same problem recently. IIRC the size would be like 900x900 for a JPG maxing out at 123k. If you don't follow these guidelines your pics will not post.

I have a Mark440 which has the funky "hybrid" tuner (analog AND digital readout), but I am still on the search for another Mark1500 after growing up with one that my father had but one of the channels slowly died. I still have the original manual, which I wouldn't sell for anything :nono: but I made copies of for yrly a while back. I do still have the matching Mark150 equalizer (10 bands per ch.) though.

Saw it on Indpls. CL. Young man selling it claimed he bought it from a church that hardly ever used it. He bought it and painted the cabinet gloss red(ugh1). He was moving to Miami Fl. for a new job and was selling much of his possessions. I didn't know anything about this receiver, until I saw it, then I had to have it. It was so huge that I knew it had to be worth at least 75.00, although I am not looking to turn it over.

I might add, that I have had by my standards a pretty good week. Last Sunday i bought a pair of Phase Technology 9t speakers for 125.00 ( sold new for 1000), Friday a bought the Project One receiver, and yesterday, a friend who is the choral director at a local middle school gave me about 400 LPs. I have been sorting and playing all day, and will for the next couple of weeks.
