Just awesome so roughly 40 hours all in all I know how investing time is with projects.... But in my opinion you're pretty quick of course you have quite a bit of experience this isn't your first .....
It'd be fun to have a friend like you that I could spend time with doing my Technics sa 600 and still pay you for your time expertise and experience.... I'm pretty good at soldering and have played with this over the years simple replacement of finals and such in transceivers nothing extensive like what you've done though... It would be fun to redo this sa600 just like you did the 800 of yours.... Maybe someday I'll run across somebody local like you..... Even though I doubt that that is possible these days

What is interesting to me is them red caps that you used to replace the old round ones that is something new to my eyes never seen that style squarish cap....

Small Red Caps:
Small Red Capacitors = WIMA Film Capacitors
Most People I Find Use Film Capacitors for Caps Under 2.2 uF

Got a good meter = Fluke (a friend for life now - couldn't imagine functioning without it)

Safety is key here - you should build a dim bulb tester (few dollars at HD) = you could kill yourself inside one of these things.

Not sure a cap coupled receiver rebuild was the best direction for cutting my teeth
Mouser, HiFi Engine are your friend. (schematics are important)
Findings:
What I learned =
Sansui 800 Bada$$ little receiver & change old biasing variable resistors EVERYTIME
Plenty of people here want to help and support folks who want to learn and save the vintage equipment
Change one capacitor at time.
Don't Rebuild until you fix / identify the original problem (if one exists)
Test receiver after each board (not always possible) that way you don't end up 10 miles away from home without pants on
Cost is always the labor not the parts or tools = buy good tools (thank me later)
If you think you will - you probably will... don't be scared to try (what is the worst thing that can happen) not fix a $100 receiver
Am just an average guy = so if I can do it, pretty sure you can too with the right mind set
