Here is one that certainly has lost its flavor in our society. Customer service in a lot of businessess today are almost laughable.

I have to credit Dennis Miller with that one... as if ANY of these are original!
Anybody tries to plagiarize me and I'll drop you like a bad transmission... sink you like a 2-foot putt.
- Jeff Altman

Yea Beans!
Most of these have been around much longer than I care to think about.

The Altman quote is a nice one.

I'd have to put it this way: The good customer is always right. Just ask anyone in the restaurant business. Some customers, you can give 'em top notch service, great food, keep their glasses full, clear their dishes right on time... everything you could expect, and they'll still sit there and bitch about everything, then stiff you on the tip. Others will leave a good tip even when things aren't so perfect.

At my work they used to have signs that said:

Rule #1 The customer is always.
Rule #2 If the customer is wrong, see rule #1

Unfortunately, nowadays people take so much advantage of any situation. We no longer post these signs.

Yea guys!
Indeed, I was only referring to the good customers, because there are those out there who look for any way out of being responsible.

My mother-in-law botches sayings all the time. My all-time-favorite of hers is "And he was a happy trooper!"

Urgh.

Oh she has also said (out loud even; in public); "That's as easy as cake!"

I try to pretend I'm not with her.

:D

I love it when people use mixed metaphors!
I got married when I was 25, and bless her heart, her elevator didn't go all the way to the top (I think someone has already quoted that one).
She would say things like "It ceases to amaze me".
Notice I talk about her in the past tense. But she was a cutie pie... except for that time she came after me with a butcher knife.

Beans would it weird you out to know my my mother-in-law once came on to her husband with a butcher-knife? And theyre still married for 35 years?

Wow that's too much.

Matt

That depends on what you mean by "came on to". It doesn't sound to me like foreplay.
Relationships... they never cease to amaze me. :D

Yea, my grandfather use to say, "I don't care what the folks say."

I find myself saying that sometimes. A lot of things the ole folks say kinda gets into your system.
