Question on HDCD

Hi Guys, I have a question:

I own a Marantz SR8500 and since it is able to decode HDCD, do I need a HDCD CD player to enjoy HDCD playback or just a normal good quality CD player?

If you use the digital output from the CD player, and the digital input on the Marantz, that will let you decode the HDCD just fine.

just like RichPA said. use your digital connection and let the receiver do the HDCD decoding. no need to buy a special CD player
