Quick question...

...this is an old stereo 8ohm attenuator. If I run this in line with a horn for balancing drivers (DIY project) what will the ill effects of using it be? If this is ok to do, I'm assuming before the cap on the XO? Thanks.

Usually, you put the L-pad after the cap, just before the driver.

Note that what you have there, is a STEREO L-pad... TWO L-pads "ganged" together. You can still use it, but you will need to string wires back-and-forth from both cabinets... one side of the L-pad wired to the horn on each channel.

Gordon.

Thanks for clearing up where in the chain to put it. I realize it is a ganged L-pad and I'll have to do as you suggested I'm just using it to attenuate some horns in a DIY experiment. Once I find what I'm looking for I'll pad it down the right way but without rolling off the very efficient horns somehow I'm not sure what kind of balance I have anyway so I need this for that experiment.

Thank you.
