Realistic Collectors?

The STA7 was the first receiver that was designed to be used with the Minimus7 speakers as a mini system. It has an EQ switch on the rear panel that is similar to a "loudness" switch but the response curve is intended for use with the Minimus 7s. It works great. I have the 7&7s in my shop / man-cave office. The receiver itself is not bad - considering that it is a mini receiver.

Minimus 7
Minimus 77 (RCA badged)

And just picked up on Friday...

A STA-2100D and a pair of 4029 Mach 1 Speakers.

I donated the STA-2250 and a pair of Mach Twos to my old friend setting up a new house. He is more than extremely pleased. He compliments the setup all the time now.
It truly was better to give than to receive.

Mach 1's (40-4024a), Optimus 5, and Optimus T-100 here. All good stuff.

So would you say Parts Express has taken over where Radio Shack left off?

I currently have two pairs of big Realistic Optimus 7 speakers from the 1974 catalog. I would like to unload them. They are in nice shape, just too big.
I was thinking that maybe $200 per pair would be reasonable.
I live in Chicago.

I recapped my Nova 8's and got Dayton Poly caps from Parts Express, the Shack has cut way back on that stuff and I think is going to be ending that side of the business. I would say that in the stereo parts side of the business, Parts Express has now taken over from where Radio Shack left off.

I have two - but much older!

both are integrated tube amps: SAF 24D and SAF 40B.

One uses 6BM8 tubes and the other uses 7189s. Both were bought off the
bay without tubes and are in restoration mode.

Anyone out there have schematics? - will be much appreciated
and saves me from tracing the circuit before troubleshooting and
rebuilding.

thanks all - great thread!

Big fan of the RS 70's equipment. Using a late model, STA-2300 & LAB-400 at the moment while my SX-1980 is being repaired. Love this stuff -- reminds me of when I was a kid drooling over it either in the catalogs or window at the local RS. STA-2100D is still my favorite matched with the Optimus T-200s, which are so hard to find. Millions of Mach 1's and hardly any T-200s. Anyhow - love this stuff. Great chilhood feelings and day dreams attatched to this stuff

I am not really a collector,but I found a pair of minimus-21's ( the other 21's that weren't sold in the US! ).

They sound good for their size, but would really benefit from a sub-woofer!!!!

The funny thing is, over a year ago I found a pair of minimus-7's at St. Vinnies
( Well its not funny at all really! for me anyway ) and I thought I didn't need them as I have too many speakers as it was and still is.....
Soooo I put them down and walked out, only to find them on E-... and sold for
a more than fair amount... Ahhhhhh Schittt!

So when I saw these I was all over them like flies on a T..d!

Oh my...Minimus 10's. I had one of those when I was a kid...don't know why Dad bought one of those and a Solo 4B, but that's what I had for a good while as a youngun. I've never seen another Minumus 10 until your post. IIRC it wasn't a bad sounding speaker, 8" acoustic-suspension 2-way. I'd love to find a pair....just 'cause.

I got a set of MC-1000 speakers by realistic...fantastic sound. who has them??

I found a pair in the trash and i can't believe how nice they actually sound for what they look like.I use them with a sherwood receiver at work to listen to tunes.Definitely surprised me.
