Its a decent tt, price imho is a little high, Id feel better at $75, but if its not got blemish one, $100 would be understandable. Ive been seeing way less tt offered lately for the same $$$.

Thats a beautifull table, If I got it for $100 (or $110 if necessary) and its in the shape it appears and operates correctly I'd call it a bargian. If it's the original stylis it's had little use. That's a plus too. Put a new stylis on the stock cartridge, which is pretty decent, and you'll have a fine TT. Also the fact that it's local is a big plus, I would never have one shipped unless your 100% confident they do it right, plus the cost.

I picked it up today, seller had no problem showing it working. This thing looks even better in person.

Thanks, Ian

Yes, pics or it didn't happen. Especially since the posting is gone now.

I have that Lab 440 model since new 1982 and mine is emaculate but has developed a faint static crackle sound that I'm not getting on my Technics SL-230 when spinning the same record. Do these cartridges need to be demagnetized with a soldering gun like tape heads did, or do you think it's a wire connection at the cartridge?

I don't know if my cartridge is gone bad or if there is something inside the tonearm or plinth that has come loose, but I did remove and replace the ground wire on the preamp with no improvement? The static gets louder when you get closer to the cartidge during play.

Post this over in the turntable forum and you'll be sure to get some input.
