In most cases, it is far too simple a task to pay for a tech to do it, imo. A little soldering - a noob can do it, and probably make a neater job of it than I do, if his hands are steady. If it looks somewhat sloppy, it is just going back in a cabinet out of sight anyway, for most speakers. Many AKers would be happy to help out, if nearby.
Yep, it's not brain surgery. The actual soldering skills can be learned watching YouTube videos. Any questions about parts selection can be answered here. Still, having someone experienced assist a first timer can make it all go more quickly. And then have a Molson and listen to some tunes!
