Why not try one of the rubber KAB ones for less than $30?

I personally use a Pickering Red Button Clamp, but I've not tried it with a 1200, just an AR-XA. They are very inexpensive and work great.

Wow, I guess the price went up since I bought it last year.

Here's my XA + Red Button Clamp (with the red button swapped out for the black button that comes with it):

I use the Audio Technica AT-618 Disc Stabilizer. It came with a turntable I bought and I really like it. Doesn't clamp, but rather it's a weight that holds the the record tight to the platter. The AT is not available new in the US, but here's a guy on ebay who is either making them or having them made. They look pretty good and past buyers seem satisfied. I'm thinking of trying one of his myself.

I got the KAB $30.00 one for free and it sucks believe me plus it leaves a round mark on the Lp labels.
Make your own clamp one of the cheapest tweaks you can do. Just get a jar lid from any plastic or metal will work I made 3 for my 1100 Technics I use each one with diffrent mat thickness. Do a search on here I and other members posted here about diy clamps.
