Record Store Day 2022 - Recommendations ?

Hey folks, just wondering if you see any special “must haves” for the upcoming RSD this weekend. I see a couple I’d like - what about you?

I like to have the one by The Doors, LA Woman sessions or something like that.

Nothing stood out for me. Plus our local record shop has people camping out, and during the day you will have to wait your turn just to get in. I don’t do waiting very well.
I thought I saw a Kris Kristofferson and Iggy Pop record, which is a strangely interesting pair, no idea what that’s about but could be neat. Echo and The Bunnymen outtakes may also be cool, their John Peel Sessions album is fantastic.

I’m wanting The Damned - Strawberries, and Speed, Glue & Shinki - Eve. I actually have several more on my list ‘cause the record store my daughter will be going to, never orders everything. She doesn’t camp there but does go a couple hours before they open.
If I get one that’s on my list, I’m happy..

My daughter said -almost- everything on my list was available and she got ‘em. Should have an interesting selection to play later; jazz from Pepper Adams - Live at the Room at the Top, some space-funk disco from Brian Bennet - Voyage, rock from Speed, Glue & Shinki - Eve and psychedelic from The Ceyleib People - Tanyet. I had to cut my list down a bit - actually had more selections to start with but decided not to spend so much.

Possibly woulda been interested in the Alice in Chains EP but I no longer have any patience for the RSD madness.

My independent guy is not in to it at all. Waits for all the unsold RSD stock to go deep discount at other stores and then sells it cheap.

And the line up of desperadoes in Melbourne. I'm not much into crowds in tight spaces and waiting to go through crates in a PITA. So I'll wait until Neil gets some leftover RSD stock.

The 2 Bill Evans sure looked interesting but no way to find out if he used an electric piano or worse yet, a Fender Rhodes. If he did and I bought them then I would have some rather spendy frisbees, ouch!

You never know with some of the RSD releases; my daughter brought my wife a RSD copy of the “Dee Gees” album last year. Nothing to get excited about but those shot up to stupid prices when drummer Taylor Hawkins passed. Many of the RSD releases do drop to discounted pricing in a week or two.

I bought the Delvon Lamarr, Jazz Dispensary (great series), and the Art Pepper releases, along with some used bluegrass and jazz fusion albums.

I like the Mariah Carey and the Chicago at Carnegie Hall box. I didn't get them yet, hoping they will be a little more reasonably priced in the next few months. The 2 Bill Evans records looked pretty cool, also.
