Yes, this is the conventional wisdom, but do you have any data to show this to be true? I'm doing the studies because no data exists to show either way. Unfortunately I think I got a few bad VM95ML, or possibly all VM95ML have suspension issues, and the results are making MLs look bad. Conversely, the controlled nature of the experiments seem to be making the Conicals last longer than expected, so it all appears upside-down. I am really hoping the VM740xML has great tracking and lasts 2000 hours, but we'll have to wait and see.

For sure I have no agenda, other than to get to the truth. I am not making any money on these studies, and in fact have refused monetary assistance when it has been offered. I'll admit to gladly accepting donations of new Telarc Pictures records for testing, but I make sure no strings are attached. I've spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours on these studies, and have learned a lot along the way, so if I say something today that is a bit different from a while back or a year back, go with what I say today.

I am seeing micro ridge still good at 800 hours, and still good at even 1000 but I would never recommend taking them further.
You said on VE that the Sas was not causing wear like the ml was, now you come hear and say different.
Also you were testing on worn grooves which makes no sense at all. When a groove is gouged the next play the stylus moves more and more damage occurs.
You dont seem to want to except there are other variables in this. Seeing any profile do damage can mean arm, tracking force, bearings, compliance, basically anything could have caused it to happen.
Do we all stop using 3um or less micro ridge, micro line, sas, VDH, Paratrace, Ogura etc because some not peer reviewed hobby test online using cheap turntables says so?
I was very interested in the study when you were doing ellipticals but your unwillingness to listen to ideas about what is causing wear or the methodology is a big concern.
Your study was supposed to eliminate fake news and show people real data on how long stylus last, but it seems to have done the opposite. Now people are cherry picking bits and this fake news is ending up on Facebook making more misinformation than there ever was.
